Love of Leaves meets Plaid Tidings

Wednesday, September 30, 2020

Thanks for stopping by! Today I'm sharing a simple card I made for a team card swap. A card swap is where one designs a card and makes multiples of them to exchange with others participating in the swap. Every month, my Pretty in pINKsters team does a swap with a theme and a few guidelines. Since we can't gather in person, we do it through the mail. It's always a sweet surprise to open the mailbox and see some mail in there that is NOT a bill or flyer! I tried to create a card that was pretty but simple enough that I could create a bunch without being at it for hours.

Here's the card I designed:

love of leaves, plaid tidings, fall card, autumn card, easy card, quick card, in good taste

I used one of my favourite bundles from the Holiday Catalogue, Love of Leaves. The dies in this set create the most beautiful leaves with stitched veining...they weren't on my initial catalogue order, but now I can't imagine not having them!

I also used two different patterns of paper, one from the Plaid Tidings Designer Series paper pack and the other from the In Good Taste paper pack. I loved how these two patterns worked together, neither one overpowering the other. The warm colours together create the perfect backdrop for a fall card.

Here's a closeup:

Here are the details for the card:
  • Bumblebee card base 5 1/2 x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
  • Crumb Cake layer 5 1/4 x 4", stamped sentiment in Early Espresso and then embossed with Tasteful Textile Embossing folder
  • Designer Series Paper
    • Plaid Tidings - 5 1/4 x 2"
    • In Good Taste - cut using Stitched Shapes Circle (largest)
  • Die cut leaves - whisper white and Brushed Metallic Cardstock
  • Embellishments: Gingham Ribbon and In Colour Enamel Dots

I hope you like the card! If you have any questions or comments, I would love to hear from you!

Thanks again for stopping by and have a great day :)
