All Star Design Team Blog Hop: Love You Always

Wednesday, February 03, 2021

 Hey there!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today, you're in for a treat! The All-Star Tutorial Group Design Team is participating in a blog hop where we are sharing inspiration from the Love You Always suite in the January to June Mini Catalogue

Every month, each member of our design team creates a project and an accompanying video and PDF tutorial complete with supply lists, measurements (imperial and metric) and a demonstration of how to create the project. Not only does this provide you with inspiration for 12 different projects, we set you up to be successful with creating them yourself! Here's a sneak peek of my project for February:

I used the Always in my Heart Bundle for my tutorial project as well as for my Blog Hop project today! Same bundle, two totally different cards. I really wanted to show the versatility of this bundle and help you see the possibilities with all of the different types of cards you can create with it!

This project was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest by Gloria Plunkett. I loved the beautiful and bright flowers attached to a gold hoop to create a wreath and decided to use that as my jumping off point.

I'm also playing along with Freshly Made Sketches #471, the sketch was a perfect jumping off point for this card!

Here are the details for the project:
  • Daffodil Delight Card Base: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored at 4 1/4
  • Basic White Mat: 5 1/2 x 3 1/8
  • True Love Designer Series Paper: 5 1/2 x 3
  • Flowers were heat embossed in white onto Magenta Madness, Daffodil Delight, Pool Party and Gorgeous Grape
  • I also die cut the detailed flowers using the Floral Heart Dies set which, by the way, are GORGEOUS and a must have in your collection!
  • I used scraps of Shaded Spruce and Just Jade Cardstock for the leaves and sprigs
  • I stamped the sentiment on a white rectangle and used my trimmer to trim close to the sentiment; I used my Paper Snips to fussy cut around the 'y' in 'you'
  • I tied a bow with white twine and hid it just behind the flowers of the wreath and let the tails just drape down the card
  • finally, I embellished with the Matte Black Dots, my FAVE  new embellishment in my collection!

I hope you liked the card and if so, that it inspires you to create something similar! You'll find the supplies used to create the project below and if you're in Canada and don't have a demonstrator, I would love for you to shop with me!
