Non Traditional Stampin' Up! Christmas Card

Wednesday, July 14, 2021

Hi there and thanks for stopping by today!

I'm sharing a Christmas Card today - cause you can never start too early, right?? - that features one of my most favourite colours - PINK! I love pink so much that my team of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators is called Pretty in pINKsters, which we often shorten to PIPs. Anyway, I digress...

Here's my card:

One of the perks of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, in addition to the generous discount and commission, is the opportunity to order new products early! And for someone that's not skilled at delaying gratification, that's an amazing perk for me. We have our Holiday Mini Catalogue (called the July to December Mini) launching in August. I know that's confusing - it was supposed to launch in July but due to shipping delays related to Covid, the launch was pushed out to August, but demonstrators get to order during July. My preorder has arrived and I couldn't resist playing with some new product!

For my card, I started with a Sahara Sand card base. I chose this colour based on the pattern of Designer Series Paper I chose, which has Sahara Sand as a background. This paper is from the Tidings of Christmas Designer Series Paper in our Annual Catalogue, it's currently on sale!

I wanted a softer look to the card, so I decided to add in Petal Pink and Soft Succulent as complementing colours. I embossed a panel of Petal Pink Cardstock using the new 3D Timber Embossing Folder (from the Holiday Mini). The gorgeous texture and detail created with this folder really adds to the card.

I stamped the pinecone, sprig and holly from the new Christmas Season Stamp Set and die cut and added them to the card. For the greeting, I used another new stamp set called Christmas to Remember, which has the cutest font and a variety of sentiments for all your Christmas crafting needs.

I added a piece of the Soft Succulent Open Weave Ribbon and some Champagne Rhinestones to embellish the card. It's a quick and easy card to make and the layout is one that can be used with all sorts of other cards!

You'll find a supply list below with all of the current product used on this card. The new holiday products are not yet available for purchase as a customer, but you can get them in your Starter Kit, if you'd like to join as a demonstrator this month! For more details on adding these to your starter kit, please email me at stampwithzahra@gmail.com and I can help!

Here's a video showing you step by step, how to create the card:

I hope you enjoyed this card and thanks for stopping by! I'd love to hear what you think of this card and colour combo! Are you a non-traditional Christmas card maker? Drop a comment below and let me know!

Hugs,

Zahra

Plentiful Plants Brick Wall Card

Thursday, July 08, 2021

Hello and thanks for stopping by my blog today! I'm sharing a card I created using one of my FAVOURITEST (yes, it's a word LOL) suites in the Stampin' Up! catalogue, called Bloom Where You're Planted. Ironically, I don't have a green thumb. In fact, whatever the opposite of green thumb is, that's what I have. I killed an orchid in less than 2 weeks and the only plants I seem to keep alive are fake ones. But I do love me some plant themed cards, let me tell ya! Here's my card:

For my card, I started with a Basic White Thick Card Base. I wanted to create the look of a framed brick wall and the Rectangle Stitched Dies helped pull this look together. I used the second largest and fourth largest dies and ran them through the Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine to create a frame. I cut a piece of the brick pattern Designer Series Paper just a bit smaller than the outer edge of the frame and adhered it to the card base. Using Mini Stampin' Dimensionals, I added the frame over the DSP.

One feature I LOVE about our DSP is that some of the images can be cut out with Stampin' Up!'s dies! Such is the case with the Perfect Plants Dies and the Bloom Where You're Planted DSP. I used the dies to cut out a plant pot and the plant itself, easy peasy! I also used the dies to cut the macrame plant hanger, the small plant bowl and plant extending out of it from coordinating cardstock colours.

The greeting is stamped in Evening Evergreen Ink on a scrap piece of white. Linen Thread and Genial Gems finish off the card, isn't it just so cute?

I can't get enough of this suite, so much so that I'm offering a Bloom Where You're Planted Stamp Camp in a Box! I've partnered with my friend Jaimie Babarczy in New York, to put together a fun and convenient Stamp Camp that you can do at your own pace and at your own time. More details below!

Thanks again for stopping by, have a fabulous day!

Hugs,
Zahra

All Star Design Team Blog Hop: Expressions in Ink Birthday Card

Wednesday, July 07, 2021

Hi there and thanks for stopping by my blog today! I'm hopping along with the talented crafters on the All Star Tutorial Bundle Design Team for our July Blog Hop!

We are featuring the Expressions in Ink Suite in the Annual Catalogue this month. This suite is beyond STUNNING and has been a fan favourite since its release. In fact, many of the products in the suite sold out quickly and some are back in stock again, whew! I can't say enough how much I love this suite. The Artistically Inked stamp set has stunning images and four versatile sentiments to cover SO many occasions and reasons for sending a card!

Each month, we design a project for our Tutorial Bundle which includes 12 exclusive video tutorials featuring a suite in the catalogue. More details on how to access these tutorials below. Here's a sneak peek of my project for this month:

Here's my project for today's hop:

For my card, I started with a Basic White Thick Card base. I cut a frame from Magenta Madness cardstock using two Rectangle Stitched Dies. I layered a piece of the Expressions in Ink Designer Series Paper behind the frame, cut just smaller than the outer edge of the frame.

The flowers are from the Artistically Inked Stamp Set. I used sponge daubers to apply Pale Papaya Ink towards the centre and Magenta Madness Ink on the outer edge of both flowers. I then die cut the flowers using the Artistic Dies and stuck them together. The 'Happy Birthday' sentiment is heat embossed in gold onto a strip of Basic White Cardstock.

I embellished the card using gold foil elements and sequins from the Expressions in Ink Ephemera Pack. I tied a bow using the gold trim from the Elegant Trim Combo Pack and stuck it to the card, layering the sentiment over it.

I created a coordinating envelope using my favourite pattern from the Designer Series Paper. To see how I created the envelope, check out this video

I can't say enough how much I love this suite! If you don't already have it, I hope I've made you want it now LOL! Our tutorial bundle this month features 12 projects to inspire your creativity and equip you with detailed video tutorials to help you be successful with your crafting!

We will be featuring the following product collections over the next 6 months:
