Sweet Symmetry Card & Matching Envelope

Monday, June 21, 2021

Hey there! Thanks so much for stopping by today, I have a fun and easy project for you! To see how I created this project, click on the video link at the end of this post.

I created this simple yet pretty card using the Sweet Symmetry suite of products, which includes the In Symmetry Bundle and coordinating patterned paper. I love the bright, bold colours and patterns on this paper and find it to be so versatile for a variety of different cards!

I love the paper so much in fact, that I used it to create a coordinating envelope that fits the card perfectly.

To create the card, I used a piece of Night of Navy cardstock and a small strip of Flirty Flamingo to layer behind the gorgeous paper. I stamped the greeting and flower on a circle and layered a scalloped circle behind it to add some contrast.

I finished off the card with some Flirty Flamingo metallic ribbon and some Champagne Rhinestones. I added a white insert with a small strip of coordinating paper to decorate the inside.

The envelope was created using a 6 x12 piece of Designer Series Paper and a scoring tool - I used my Stampin' Trimmer.

Here are some more pics of the cards as well as the envelope in a different colour.

Artistically Inked Thank You Card

Friday, June 11, 2021

Happy FRI-YAY! SO excited the weekend is finally here, this has felt like the longest week EVER.

Weather is supposed to be great here in Markham, Ontario this weekend, so I'm really looking forward to spending some time outdoors!

Today, I'm sharing a card I created during a Facebook Live last Sunday. It's a card that was designed by my friend Jennifer Hill from One Crafty Sister for our Summer Stamp Camp! Stay tuned for a full blog post about Stamp Camp - the cards we made, pillow gifts, the beefed up goodie bags and so much more!

The video replay for this card is at the bottom of this blog post.

Here's my card:

My card starts off with a Pale Papaya card base. This is quickly becoming one of my favourite new colours, I just love the soft peach and how it combines so nicely with so many of our other colours.

I added a panel of basic white cardstock, embossed with the Tasteful Textile embossing folder. This folder is likely my most used embossing folder, it's perfect for any age, gender or occasion!

I added three pieces of Expressions in Ink Designer Series Paper. This gorgeous paper has beautiful swirls of colour that mimic an alcohol and ink blending technique that's super on trend right now! The gorgeous gold details in the paper make it look super glam, don't you think?

I used the Artistically Inked Stamp Set to stamp the 'thanks' sentiment. I love the size and font of this greeting and can see myself using it often! I embellished the card with gold foil die cuts from the Expressions in Ink Ephemera Pack and some gorgeous shimmery flowers. I used the Flowers and Leaves Punch and the new Shimmer Vellum to create these layered flowers.

Here's a look at Jen's original card from Stamp Camp. As you can see, my card is very similar, with the exception of a few minor changes. I simply LOVED her card and it was definitely a fan favourite with our stampers that day!

I hope you enjoyed this post today and that it inspires you to get out your stamps and ink and create something beautiful!

Here's a sneak peek of my project for this month:

As soon as I pulled out my Sand and Sea bundle, I just knew I wanted to pair it with the Expressions in Ink Designer Series Paper, new in our Annual Catalogue. The gorgeous swirls with gold detailing make it a perfect backdrop for the stamps and dies in this bundle!

For my card today, I started with a Basic White Thick Card Base and layered a sheet of Gold Foil, followed by a sheet of the Expressions in Ink Designer Series Paper.

I used some other new products, including the beautiful Shimmery Vellum and the Elegant Trim, both found in the Annual Catalogue. The Shimmer Vellum, when embossed and die cut is just STUNNING! I adhered this to the card using Glue Dots before wrapping the gold trim around the width of the card twice and tying a bow. For the sentiment, I used a background stamp from the Artistically Inked Stamp Set to add some colour to the die cut and heat embossed the sentiment in gold. I embellished with Champagne Rhinestones.

It was a fairly simple card to make with a few tools, no fancy or time consuming techniques, but a gorgeous result, wouldn't you say?

All products used on today's project are available in my Online Store and are listed below.

I hope you enjoyed today's project! You'll find lots more inspiration for this bundle as you hop through the All Star Tutorial Design Team's blogs, enjoy!

CREATIVE STAMPERS BLOG HOP - HANDPENNED PETALS

Hey there! Thanks for stopping by my blog, today I'm hopping with my peeps on the Creative Stampers Tutorial Bundle Team to bring you lots of crafty inspiration and ideas! Come on in!

For this month's tutorial bundle, our task was to choose our favourite new bundle from the 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue and design a project with it. While there are so many things I love in the catalogue, I was particularly drawn to the Hand-Penned suite. I'm mildly obsessed with florals. Ok, very obsessed. I also really love soft pastels - I find them so soothing and pretty. So this suite spoke to me as soon as I saw it. Here's the card I designed for today's blog hop:

I started with a Pale Papaya card base and stuck down a panel of the GORGEOUS Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper. I then used the Scalloped Contours Dies to cut out a stitched scallop from the polka dotted pattern in the same paper pack and added this to my card. I stamped the floral arrangement in Memento Black onto Basic White cardstock and used So Saffron, Blushing Bride, Pale Papaya and Mint Macaron Inks to stamp the flowers over the outline image. I also stamped the sentiment in black onto a white scrap.

Using the Penned Petals Dies, I cut out the stamped flowers and adhered them using Dimensionals to my card. I added a Linen Thread bow and stuck my sentiment down on top of it. I added some of my favourite new embellishments, Genial Gems to finish off the card.

I created a simpler card using slightly different colours and elements. You can see them both side by side below:

You can find a video tutorial of these cards coming together below:

I love this suite so much, it's so pretty and soft and can be used for many different occasions. I've already created so many projects with these products, including my project for our tutorial bundle this month:
