Casually Crafting March Blog Hop

Saturday, March 20, 2021

Hello friends and welcome to the Casually Crafting Blog Hop, I'm so happy you stopped by!

The Casually Crafting Design Team aspires to share simple projects that to inspire the new or casual crafter! If you're looking for clean and simple cards you can create with just a few basics, you've come to the right hop!

Today's project features some pretty patterned paper (also known as Designer Series Paper) and a stamp set and circle punches.

When you have some pretty patterned paper, you don't need much else to make a pretty card, just some coordinating cardstock, ink and a greeting! Embellishments are optional, I just love embellishing all the things.

Here are the deets for the card:
  • Pretty Peacock Card Base: 4 1/4 x 11, scored at 5 1/2
  • White cardstock layer: 3 7/8 x 5 1/8
  • Designer Series Paper: 3 3/4 x 5, 3 7/8 x 1
  • Circle Punches: 2 and 2 1/4
I stamped the leaves in Petal Pink (to add some interest) and the greeting in Pretty Peacock. Punched it out with a 2" circle punch and layered it onto a 2 1/4 circle punch out.

I used the Tasteful Touches Stamp Set, it has gorgeous images and versatile sentiments...you can make so many different cards with this one set!

That's all there is to it! You can create this card in minutes, it's that easy.

It's so hard to say goodbye...

Monday, March 15, 2021

Hey there crafty friend!

I'm sharing a card I created featuring some of my favourite In Colour products, which will be retiring soon. Every year, Stampin' Up! releases a collection of 5 colours and offers a variety of products in those colours. These colours stick around for 2 years and then retire, waaaah! It's almost time to say goodbye to these in colours, so I wanted to spend some time with them before they're no longer available...

Here's the card I created:

I used the Jar of Flowers Stamp Set for this card, it's a stamp set I love but haven't inked up in a long time. You can find the video tutorial for this card here:

Here are the details for the card:
  • Purple Posy Card Base: 4 1/4 x 11, scored at 5 1/2
  • Purple Posy Layer: 4 x 5 1/4, scored with Ornate Floral Embossing Folder
  • Seaside Spray Layer: 2 1/8 x 4
  • Designer Series Paper: 2 x 4
  • Basic White Stitched Rectangle for stamping and colouring
  • Designer Series Paper die cut for greeting
  • Stampin Blends Markers used: Seaside Spray, Purple Posy, Petal Pink, Rococo Rose, Pool Party, Old Olive
  • Greeting (from Forever Fern) stamp set heat embossed in white
You can find a full supply list below and all products can be ordered from my Online Store for a limited time. The retiring list will be released on March 24th and I'm fairly certain these products will go FAST! Think Walmart on Black Friday - that fast!!

Butterfly Bouquet Meets Gilded Leafing

Sunday, March 07, 2021

Hey there crafty friend!

Today, I'm sharing a card I created during a Facebook Live crafting tutorial where I shared how to use Gilded Leafing - a relatively new Stampin' Up! product - to create a gorgeous butterfly background on this card featuring the new Butterfly Bouquet products. Here's the card:

I must admit: although I ordered the Gilded Leafing as soon as it was available, I was rather intimidated by it and didn't use it for several weeks after I ordered it. As soon as I saw the butterfly background stamp, I knew I wanted to give the Gilded Leafing a try. Here's the video replay showing how I created the card, I've shared some tips on using the Gilded Leafing:

Here's the scoop on how I created the card:
  • Basic White Thick card base: 4 1/4 x 11, scored at 5 1/2
  • Designer Series Paper: 4 1/4 x 5 1/2
  • Basic White Cardstock: 4 1/4 x 6 (for stamping background and applying gilded leafing)
  • Pool Party Strip: 3/4 x 3 3/8, embossed with Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder
  • Natural Touch Specialty Paper: Die cut with Stitched Shapes Dies (3rd largest circle)
  • Butterfly die cut from Designer Series Paper

I also created the same card using a different Designer Series Paper pattern:
