I scream, you scream, we ALL scream for ICE CREAM!!

Monday, April 19, 2021

When ice cream and crafting intersect, it's PURE JOY. I just love ice cream, my favourite flavour is Kawartha Dairies Black Raspberry Thunder. It's a delicious white chocolate ice cream with swirls of raspberry puree and chunks of white chocolate - pure heaven. My family knows, when that comes into the house, everyone better keep their paws off of it, unless mama decides to share. But I digress...

Stampin' Up! released a suite of products that is all things Ice Cream. It's called Ice Cream Corner and includes a stamp set with a coordinating punch, fun and versatile patterned paper, little sprinkles that look good enough to eat and a gorgeous ribbon that coordinates with the colours in the paper. Here's a peek at the suite:

I have had so much fun playing with this suite and using the products together. With the incredible coordination, it takes the guess work out of creating and that's a huge time saver for me! During my recent Facebook Live, I created three cards using this versatile and easy-to-use suite of products, you can check out the link below!

Here's one project I created with this suite:

For this card, I used a layer of the Ice Cream Corner patterned paper that has different coloured watercolour splashes for the background. The triple scoop of ice cream was made using the punch and different colours of cardstock. I stamped the sprinkles and crosshatch on the pink ice cream scoop and cone respectively. I stamped the 'You melt my heart' sentiment on a scrap piece of cardstock. I used my Wink of Stella glitter brush to add some sparkle and embellished with some some sparkly opal rounds and Blushing Bride twine. All of the products used are listed below and can be purchased directly from my Online Store. You should definitely grab these products before they're gone!

Here are the deets:
  • Petal Pink card base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4
  • Patterned Paper (DSP) - 5 1/4 x 4
  • Die cut white Scalloped Rectangle using Stitched So Sweetly Dies (or just cut out a rectangle with your trimmer)
  • Crumb Cake Scrap for sentiment - 2 x 1"
  • Ice Cream scoops and cone - Petal Pink, Pool Party, So Saffron and Cinnamon Cider cardstock scraps

Here's another card I made with the same suite:

In this card, I stamped the triangles in the set and punched them out with the Ice Cream Builder Punch. Instead of an ice cream cone, I used them to create a banner of pennants across the card. I stamped the 'Happy Birthday' in the bottom corner and added some glitter splatter to the card using Wink of Stella.
I embellished again with the Opal Rounds and twine.

Here are the specifics:
  • Soft Sea Foam Card base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4
  • Patterned Paper (DSP) - 5 1/4 x 4
  • Basic White layer - 5 x 3 3/4
  • Stamp triangles and punch out using Ice Cream Builder Punch

I hope these projects inspire you and show how easy it is to create with this amazing collection of products! If you want all the things in this collection, you can get it all with one code! Just hop over to my Online Store to shop or click the thumbnails below.

Three Cards featuring the Boho Indigo Product Medley

Sunday, April 11, 2021

Hey crafty friends!

Hope you're having a fabulous day! Here in Ontario, we just started our third lockdown and while it's sucky that this pandemic seems to be never-ending, the weather was gorgeous yesterday, the sun was shining and we were able to set up our patio furniture! We've created what feels like a little sanctuary, so at least we can enjoy the outdoors and have a change of scenery (when it's not pouring rain like it is today). Trying to find joy in little things and having a space to enjoy the outdoors is definitely one of them! Here's a photo of the space:

I can see myself spending lots of time out here in the coming weeks, reading, listening to music and of course, browsing my new Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue! I'm so excited about new goodies coming our way. Even after 8 years of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, I still get giddy with excitement when new products come out! At the same time, I'm also sad to see some of my favourite items leaving us. One such product is our Boho Indigo Product Medley.

Product Medleys are essentially a curated bundle of products that contain all elements needed to create a HUGE variety of projects. Whether you're a beginner papercrafter or have been papercrafting for years, you can successfully create beautiful cards and crafts with these products. This medley includes a stamp set, coordinating dies, 48 sheets of pretty patterned paper, die cut labels and leaves, embossed cardstock, two rolls of ribbon and gorgeous fabric flowers for embellishing.

Here are the projects I created with this medley:

I created three different cards for three different levels of papercrafters - beginner (bottom), casual (top right) and avid (top left). I created these during a recent Facebook Live and shared tips and instructions for how to create super simple to stepped up cards using this medley. The recording is now on YouTube, you can view it here

Here's a closer look at the three cards:

For this card (above), I used the Very Vanilla Notecards and Envelopes, perfect for creating a super quick and easy card. There was no die cutting or punching involved in the creating of this card, just used the pretty paper, die cut shape for the greeting and some accessories to embellish.

For this card, I used a simple layout and let the pretty patterned paper (also called Designer Series Paper) do the heavy lifting.

Here are the details and measurements:
  • Night of Navy Card base: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score at 4 1/4
  • Designer Series Paper: 3 3/4 x 3 1/2; 3 3/4 x 1 1/2
  • Embossed Strip: 4 1/4 x 3/4
  • Very Vanilla Cardstock 2" Circle
  • Night of Navy 2 1/4" Circle
And here's the third card:

This card is slightly more stepped up than the previous cards and used the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine to die cut the stamped images and leaves as well as some heat embossing.

Here are the measurements for this card:
  • Crumb Cake Card Base: 4 1/4 x 11, scored at 5 1/2
  • Night of Navy: 3 7/8 x 5 1/8 (layer); 4 1/4 x 1/2 (strip), scrap
  • Designer Series (Patterned) Paper: 3 3/4 x 3 1/2, 3 3/4 x 1 1/2
  • Embossed Cardstock die cut with Stitched So Sweetly Dies
  • Stamp and die cut vase, die cut leaves and heat emboss sentiment in white
This medley makes it SO easy to create cute cards and other crafts. The blue and white theme and cute boho patterns are so versatile and on trend, it's a must have! The medley and refill kit (ON SALE) are available until May 3rd or while supplies last! Hop on over to my Online Store and get it before it's gone!

Thanks for visiting today, I hope you enjoyed these projects! I've listed the products below, click the links directly to view and/or order the product in my Online Store.

All Star Tutorial Blog Hop - Flowering Cactus

Wednesday, April 07, 2021

Hey there crafty friend! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today, you're in for a treat!

Today, I am hopping along with my friends in the All Star Tutorial Bundle Design team and we're featuring the Flowering Cactus Product Medley from the Stampin' Up! January to June Mini Catalogue.

I must admit, when I first saw this product medley in the catalogue, I might have squealed (and peed my pants) a little! That's what happens when this 45 year old mom of three gets excited about things lol. I love cacti - like LOVE them - and to have crafting supplies with cacti all over them is just dreamy for me. This medley includes a stamp set with coordinating dies, pretty cactus themed patterned paper, linen thread and the cutest felt embellishments in two colours! Here's a look at all of the goodies included in the medley:

For this month's All Star Tutorial Bundle, we each designed a project - for a total of 12 amazing projects - and created a video and PDF tutorial for each. These have now been compiled together for our monthly tutorial bundle offering. Here's a sneak peek:

Simply gorgeous aren't they?

For today's project, I used all the things in the medley to create this gorgeous sampler, which now has a special spot in my craft cave:

I don't make a ton of home decor pieces, truth be told, I mostly make cards. But with these gorgeous images, embellishments and papers, I couldn't resist creating something to showcase all the things!

Some general tips and details:
  • I used a 12 x 12 piece of basic white cardstock, though you could also use the backing from a 12 x 12 pack of designer series/patterned paper
  • The base layers of each little vignette are Mossy Meadow cardstock and measure 3 x 3 and 6 1/4 x 3 (for the two larger layers)
  • I used a variety of dies to create layers for each vignette and embellished with the felt embellishments
  • NOTE: I used different dies cause I'm a craft supply hoarder and have LOTS - you can easily recreate this project with out any or all of the dies, just use what you have!
  • To arrange your layers, draw a square border (in pencil) of about 1 1/4" in from each side and begin aligning your Mossy Meadow layers and gradually work your way in, keeping about 1/4" space between each layer

I hope you enjoyed my project today. If you have this medley and are looking for ideas and inspiration, then you'll love this month's All Star Tutorial Bundle. Click here for more details
