Creative Stampers Tutorial Group Blog Hop - Way to Goat

Wednesday, August 05, 2020

Hey hey hey crafty friends,

I'm coming to you today with a super cute project as part of a blog hop I'm doing with the Creative Stampers Tutorial Group. Every month, our group decides on a theme/suite and each of us design a project and share a tutorial for the project, which includes supplies, measurements and instructions! My dear friend Rick compiles all of the tutorials and puts them together in a neatly packaged PDF document. The tutorial bundle is free with any size order with me, and provides tons of inspiration and project ideas. I also give it to my team of pINKsters for free as a special perk. This month, our theme is Cozy Critters, here's a sneak peek:

In addition to our tutorial project, we're also sharing another BONUS project for a blog hop! Here's my second project using this set and a few other goodies!

I just LOVE the Way to Goat stamp set, new in our 2020-2021 Annual Stampin' Up! catalogue.  This set includes super images and punny sentiments which crack me up! For my project, inspired by a cute card I saw on Pinterest, I decided to use the new Playful Alphabet dies - another new fave - for the sentiment! Don't you just adore that mini envelope?

Here's the scoop on how I made the card:
  • I used Gray Granite Cardstock as my base and layered with Magenta Madness (3 3/4" x 5") and Whisper White (3 5/8" x 4 7/8")
  • I embossed the white piece using the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder
  • I stamped the goat on whisper white with Memento Black ink and coloured it in with Gray Granite Combo and Ivory Stampin' Blends. I then fussy cut it using paper snips
  • Using Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, I did an ombre watercolour wash using Magenta Madness Ink and water painters; I left it for a few minutes to dry
  • Using the Playful Alphabet dies, I cut out the letters for 'you got mail' and some small hearts, which came from the Birds & Blooms Dies and the Well Written Dies
  • Using a small piece of Flowers for Every Season (and lots of trial and error), I made a teeny tiny envelope - isn't it cute??

I just love how it turned out - the ombre letters and cute little envelope are the star of the show, in my opinion. Oh and of course, the cheeky goat ;)

I hope you enjoyed this card today and thanks for stopping by! You don't want to miss all the other 'Cute Critters' projects our group has created for you, be sure to hop along to the other blogs by clicking the links below! Have a great day, hope it's the GOAT (Greatest of All Time) - couldn't resist ;)

Hugs,
Zahra
